FAQ
Urban Achievers is indeed a tuition-free private school. While our tuition is set at $70,000 per year, we believe that every child deserves access to a meaningful and high-quality education. With the help of our partners and generous donors, we are able to eliminate tuition costs entirely for our students and families.
Urban Achievers values both academic and athletic excellence. We look for evidence of strong performance in these areas, as well as engagement in other interests to ensure a well-rounded profile. We are deeply committed to welcoming applicants who are enthusiastic about joining our school and contributing to our vibrant community. We are not seeking a specific "type" of student; rather, we aim to cultivate a community that embraces diversity in its broadest form.
Our educational model spans Grade 9-14, offering a seamless pathway that integrates high school, college, and career preparation. Students can graduate with both a high school diploma and a post-secondary degree, along with valuable workforce experience through internships and apprenticeships with our sport industry-relevant partnerships.

Urban Achievers offers 20 spots per incoming 9th-grade cohort. Among these, 16 spots are specifically allocated for students enrolled in our after-school and summer immersive program. Generally, Urban Achievers does not accept new students into higher grades unless vacancies arise.
While our school presently serves young men, we are committed to open a sister school for young women in the future. Studies indicate that single-gender schools can significantly enhance educational outcomes. We adhere to Massachusetts' anti-discrimination laws and strive to provide equitable educational opportunities for all.

Urban Achievers prioritizes dressing for success as part of our scholar-athlete philosophy. We believe that looking good enhances self-esteem, contributing to improved overall performance. Students are expected to adhere to a dress code that includes neat, professional attire such as blazers, ties, dress shirts, and slacks, reflecting our high standards. Lighter fabric options are allowed during summer and warmer weather. On non-uniform days, such as casual days, students may wear casual clothing with guidelines to ensure appropriateness (e.g. no graphic tees with inappropriate images or wording). Special occasions, including field trips, sports events, or formal assemblies, may have specific dress codes to suit the event.
At Urban Achievers, we pride ourselves on creating a personal and welcoming environment. This commitment begins with our admission team and continues throughout all aspects of school life. Please feel free to call 617-899-1600 or email [email protected]Â the Admission Office with any questions. We are here to help as you consider Urban Achievers for your son.
